We have been doing this on a case-by-case basis, thus far we have made several profile books for patient education for different diagnoses. The first for a person with Lupus (adult onset) patient was able to keep track of appointments on the calendar and questions on the notes section. The patient stated that she found the dietary section the most helpful and the section on research on secondary renal failure that is associated with Lupus.
The second was for a person with a movement disorder he got a profile education book that included everything from above along with support groups. When he had problems with his eyesight, common for this disease a neuro-ophthalmologist was recommended, and he was able to get good results and regained some of his sight.
The third was for a person with hydrocephalus a profile education book with all informational sections as above. The family wanted to be educated and learn tips for keeping patient at home. Time was spent with family education that modified the patient’s home successfully and is maintained at home.
